Camp Evolution is an alternative experience for youth who suffer from present traumatic stress as a result of gang violence, drug addiction, fatherlessness, and generational poverty. A week where youth will have the opportunity to escape their normal environment and stay overnight at a camp on the Tennessee River where they will receive leadership training, participate in team building activities, develop positive social interaction & conflict resolution skills. The cool thing about Camp Evolution is not what you learn while you there. It’s more about the friendships, tools and skills you leave with. Every facet of Camp Evolution is planned and implemented by teens but facilitated and supported by adults. This approach fostered buy-in, accountability and empowerment amongst all campers. Which make the camp experience extra special.
